Summer is the perfect time to kick back, relax and enjoy with friends and family. And there’s no better place to do so than your own back yard. If you’ve got some space, create an oasis that’s perfect for hosting an intimate party, reading a book or working on your tan.

Here are a few outdoor rooms that we discovered this summer that have inspired us to feather our nests.

Life is definitely not the pits.

We’ve mentioned Diane von Furstenberg before. A goddess. A fashion icon. A genius! We love the wrap dress, of course. But thank you for designing the Whitley Dress. The draping is perfect, the color is fantastic and we love how it looks with the Bucklette!

The Whitley Dress. Available at Net-A-Porter.com for $365.

Stay tuned for more of our Lookbook Series where we’ll suggest ways to wear both the Bucklette Buckle and the Bucklette Clip-On. And if you’re rocking a Bucklette and would like to share, email a photo to info@bucklette.com. We may include it in our Lookbook on the Bucklette Blog.

Life has its ups and downs. But one thing you can almost always count on: your girlfriends. If you’re fortunate enough to have one or two “sisters”, by all means celebrate. Whether it’s a villa in Cabo San Lucas, a suite in Miami, Vegas or New York, or the back porch of your momma’s house, a girls’ trip is our favorite way to get away.

Girls' Getaway

A relaxing getaway with the girls on Figure Eight Island, North Carolina

The most memorable aspect of the gathering isn’t necessarily the locale. Beautiful scenery and exotic people are fabulous, but what we cherish most are the times spent laughing until we’re crying and crying until we’re laughing.

“I’ve formed an amazing group of women who block out at least one long weekend
a year to sneak away together. Cooking, dancing until dawn, lounging around
catching up on life. Those are some of my fondest memories.”
- Sandy Alexander

We’ve rented some incredible houses in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico with maid, chef and spa services through Cabo Villa Rentals. You’ll find friendly owners, a nice pool and restaurant at the Hotel Rochari in Mykonos, Greece - the nightlife and beaches are awesome too. Number 31 is a stylish boutique hotel in the heart of Dublin, Ireland. And for the adventurous, try the Tabacón Grand Spa Thermal Resort in Costa Rica.

If you want to stay in the States, check out the Shore Club in Miami, the Bellagio in Las Vegas or the enormous suites (with kitchens) at the Doubletree in New York. With wine, great food, and ideal weather, Napa is perfect for a girls’ trip. Check into the Milliken Creek Inn & Spa for an indulgent escape.
